The Advocates for Human Rights

The Advocates for Human Rights is a non-governmental, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of internationally recognized human rights. With the help of the more than 600 active volunteers who contribute an estimated $3.4 million annually of in-kind services, The Advocates documents human rights abuses, advocates on behalf of individual victims, educates on human rights issues, and provides training and technical assistance to address and prevent human rights violations.

Rights Sites Project

"If there is one thing that I do that makes me proud of my work as an educator, it is human rights education."

The Advocates for Human Rights has developed a program to help K-12 teachers integrate human rights education into their curricula. This program, called "Rights Sites," piloted 8 schools located in the Twin Cities metro area. The Rights Sites project provides examples of how human rights education can flourish in diverse educational environments. You are invited to explore the schools' stories here…
