Domestic Violence & the Immigrant and Refugee Community CLE

Save the Date! Please join the Immigrant and Refugee Battered Women's Task Force for a full day training on the particular needs and challenges of addressing immigrant and refugee victims of domestic violence. M. Liliana Espondaburu from Casa de Esperanza will be the keynote speaker. Sessions will address cultural competency, language barriers & issues regarding interpreters, the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights' recent report: The Government Response to Domestic Violence Against Refugee and Immigrant Women in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Area: A Human Rights Report, child protection, the interplay between immigration issues and the criminal justice system, and on VAWA 2005.  We are applying for social work CE credits and 6 CLE credits including elimination of bias credits. Registration Materials will be available in June.
