Minnesota State Bar Votes "No" to the Death Penalty in Minnesota 5 December 2003
On December 5, 2003, the Minnesota State Bar Association's (MSBA) Board of Governors voted to adopt a resolution opposing any legislation that seeks to reinstate the death penalty in Minnesota. Caroline Palmer, Chair of the MSBA Human Rights Committee, introduced the resolution.
Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights, which has made a formal commitment to oppose the death penalty worldwide, welcomes the MSBA's resolution and encourages other individuals and groups to oppose the reintroduction of capital punishment in Minnesota.
