Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights
Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights is a non-governmental, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of internationally recognized human rights. With the help of the more than 600 active volunteers who contribute an estimated $3.4 million annually of in-kind services, Minnesota Advocates documents human rights abuses, advocates on behalf of individual victims, educates on human rights issues, and provides training and technical assistance to address and prevent human rights violations.

Members of the Oromo Study Group

The Oromo Project is designed to conduct fact-finding interviews in Minnesota about human rights abuses against the Oromo people in Ethiopia with the goal of raising awareness and providing information for advocacy efforts to improve the human rights situation in Ethiopia. The Oromo Project presents Minnesota Advocates with the opportunity to bring a human rights issue that directly affects as many as 10,000 ethnic Oromo members of our local community into global discussion by documenting systematic human rights violations.
