Aaron Van Alstine
Aaron Van Alstine, an Education Program Assistant, is a 1996 graduate of Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota and a 2003 Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellowship recipient. As a fellow, he worked for 15 months in Ayacucho, Peru as a Victim Support Specialist through the human rights organization Paz y Esperanza. While in Peru, Van Alstine developed support services for populations affected by political violence and also earned a post-graduate diploma in Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences through the University of Ricardo Palma. Previously he worked for four years in the area of refugee resettlement with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota and is currently an active supporter of human rights groups and services for abandoned children in Peru.
