The Advocates for Human Rights facilitates the implementation and protection of human rights through its international educational programming. This work includes developing curricula and training programs for use in other countries and providing access to education for children at risk of exploitative child labor practices.
  • The Nepal School Project
Since 1999, The Advocates for Human Rights' Sankhu-Palubari Community School Project in Nepal has helped hundreds of disadvantaged children exercise their right to a free and quality education and their right to be free from forced labor. Through education, nutrition and health care, the Sankhu-Palubari Community School is breaking down the cycle of poverty in the community and reducing the problems of exploitative child labor and illiteracy.

  • Peace and Conflict Resolution Education
Breakdown in the rule of law and armed conflict are tragically linked. In post-conflict countries, rebuilding the rule of law is part of a process that also demands effective reconciliation and peacebuilding. The Advocates for Human Rights develops educational resources to engage youth and adults in understanding peacebuilding and justice concepts in order to both help prevent and recover from conflict.

  • Women’s Human Rights Training
The Advocates works with partner organizations in the United States and overseas to design specialized training programs on a broad range of women’s human rights issues, including all aspects of violence against women. The Advocates also provides extensive training materials related to violence against women that can be adapted to different circumstances on its Stop Violence Against Women website: www.stopvaw.org
