8/10/2006 11:55 AM

Officials in Sierra Leone met with the UN envoy to Liberia to discuss border security operations.  The two nations have individual and joint border patrols.  The UN Special Representative to Liberia, Alan Doss, stated that increase trade between the two countries is a step in the right direction, but that both nations must prevent the illegal transfer of goods and arms to keep the region secure.  The nations are looking to implement more effective patrolling strategies.
