Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights has participated in the NGO response to the United Nations review of U.S. compliance with the Convention Against Torture.  In November 2005, Minnesota Advocates and the Midwest Coalition for Human Rights presented a list of issues for the Committee Against Torture to consider in preparing for the review of the U.S.

Minnesota Advocates also signed on to a report to the Committee concerning systemic violations of the Convention by law enforcement agents in the US.  The full report is available below.

Penny Parker, Minnesota Advocates' 2006 Volunteer Award Winner, has been representing Minnesota Advocates in Geneva at meetings of the Committee Against Torture and with the U.S. government delegation.
