ProBono.net Resource

The Advocates volunteers have a wealth of resources available through the online site www.probono.net/asylum. The Advocates partnership with probono.net/asylum allows us to provide a password protected site for volunteer attorneys to access sample documents and other materials that are necessary when handling an asylum case. We strongly advise all volunteer attorneys who have an asylum case through The Advocates to register with www.probono.net/asylum and to regularly refer to the site for reference. The Advocates uses the site to list new cases for which we are seeking attorneys, to e-mail out practice advisories to attorneys with current pro bono cases, and to post sample documents and memos from various immigration agencies in a timely manner.

Probono.net/asylum contains online support and resources for participating pro bono attorneys, including online listings of new cases, a library of training manuals, sample briefs, sample filings, practice advisories, manuals and other materials that are exceptionally valuable in the delivery of pro bono asylum representation. Probono.net/asylum also hosts webinars and has a calendar of events as well as asylum related news and a case law library to help start your research. Probono.net/asylum participants include pro bono attorneys working with Human Rights First in New York and Washington DC, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project in Washington state, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area and The Advocates for Human Rights. The national nature of the site allows volunteers to access a wide variety of documents and resources.
