Human Rights Education Program: The Human Rights Education Program brings international human rights principles to the community and the classroom by educating students, new Americans, policymakers, lawyers, teachers, and the general public. The Education Program develops and distributes curricular resources, publications, and reports; conducts presentations, lectures, film series, conferences, Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) sessions, and public forums; and provides resources online.

International Justice Program: The International Justice Program works to develop practical and sustainable strategies to assist post-conflict countries in moving toward peace and accountability. The Advocates holds consultative status with the United Nations, and staff and volunteers participate in monitoring and reporting to UN human rights bodies and regional bodies on issue areas in which the organization holds expertise.

Refugee and Immigrant Program: The Refugee and Immigrant Program protects the human rights of refugees and immigrants in the United States through free legal services to asylum seekers, immigration detainees, and immigrants. The expert staff works with hundreds of trained volunteers, including attorneys, mentors, medical and psychological experts, and interpreters to serve clients who are victims of human rights abuses.

Women’s Human Rights Program: The Women’s Human Rights Program applies international human rights standards to advocate for women’s rights in the United States and around the world. The Women’s Program works with local organizations to document abuses against women, such as domestic violence, rape, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, and sex trafficking. The Women’s Program also provides training on legal reform related to violence against women and consultation on new laws for legal professionals and women’s organizations in the United States and overseas.
