Sarah Herder is the Director of Development and Communications. She received her Master of Public Policy degree with a self-designed concentration in Human Rights from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. She earned a B.A. in English and a secondary teaching licensure from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Sarah has held internships with the Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota, the Concerned Center for Child Workers in Nepal, and the U of M Human Rights Program. She has researched the representation of immigrant and minority populations in Minnesota newspapers, public benefit eligibility and funding in the State of Minnesota, and media effects on children in the Kathmandu Valley. Sarah has also spent time as a substitute teacher in mathematics and English, an AmeriCorps member, and a volunteer for several non-profit organizations.
