Kathy Seipp
Kathy Seipp, M.A., is a Program Associate in the Human Rights Education Program at The Advocates for Human Rights. She taught middle school in the Robbinsdale School District for eight years. She taught 6th grade, piloted the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and taught in the WINGS alternative program for grades 6-8. Kathy initially incorporated human rights into her teaching with the help of Partners for Human Rights from 1996-2001 and with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights as a Rights Site teacher from 2001-2004. Kathy received her BA in Child Psychology at the University of Minnesota and an MA in Education at the University of St. Thomas, St Paul. She lived and studied in Paris, France, is a certified Ashtanga yoga teacher and volunteered with the organization Operation Smile International as a Child Life Specialist in Vietnam and Venezuela. Her passion for teaching respect, equality, dignity and tolerance are intertwined with her life and work, and she brings much experience in teaching human rights awareness in the classroom.
