Perspectives, the quarterly magazine of the University of Minnesota Law School, featured The Advocates in its Spring 2010 edition. The article highlights University of Minnesota Law School alumni who are involved with The Advocates.

The Advocates recently collaborated with MinnPost and Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi, LLP to give two seats to the May 20 Human Rights Awards Dinner to five lucky Book Clubs registered with MinnPost's Book Club Club.

A May 6 article in the Star Tribune, "State lawmaker pushes Ariz.-style immigration bill," quotes The Advocates' Executive Director Robin Phillips about a new law introduced in the Minnesota State Legislature that mimics Arizona's controversial law requiring law enforcement officers to determine the immigration status of people the officers stop or arrest.

On May 5, the TC Daily Planet  featured a story about The Advocates declining a $25,000 grant from Craigslist over the company's facilitation of human trafficking and child exploitation.

MinnPost ran an article on May 5 about The Advocates declining a $25,000 grant from the Craigslist Fund over the company's facilitation of human trafficking and child exploitation. The article quotes The Advocates' Executive Director Robin Phillips: "They know what's going on with their site, and they are allowing it to continue. Making contributions doesn't make up for facilitating human sex trafficking, and it doesn't begin to repair the damage."

On March 22, the Star Tribune ran an editorial arguing that the experience of the Liberian community in the United States with their immigration status is a case in point for the larger argument for reform of the U.S. immigration system.

On March 20, the Austin Post-Bulletin featured The Advocates' "Immigration 101" class, held in Austin, MN on March 18. The article, "Immigration class spells out process," describes The Advocates' class as taking "a subject that most Americans would flunk and (bringing) 30 Austin residents up to speed in just an hour and a half."

On March 19, the Austin Daily Herald featured The Advocates' workshop, "Immigration 101," a session designed to provide facts and background on the U.S. immigration system. The article, "Citizens hear both sides with 'Immigration 101,'" covers the event and talks about the paths to immigration and the effects of immigration in the U.S.
