A recent study by the National Committee on Responsive Philanthropy (2009) found that for every $1 invested in advocacy and community organizing activities in Minnesota, $138 is provided in benefits to our communities.* Your gift will help The Advocates save lives, fight injustice, restore peace, and build the human rights movement. Examples of how The Advocates will use your gift include:
Toolkit - $25 provides a policy-maker, educator, elected official, or community organizer with one of our comprehensive human rights toolkits.
Interpreter - $100 pays for two full days of interpreter services for overseas fact-finding.
Education - $250 enables a Nepalese child to attend the Sankhu-Palubari Community School for an entire year.
Online Resources - $250 provides one month of technical support for one of our three internationally-recognized websites.
Training Materials - $500 provides training materials on domestic violence issues to police and judges in Eastern Europe.
Human Rights Fact-Finding - $3000 allows one staff member to lead a team of volunteers on an overseas human rights fact-finding mission.
