The Advocates for Human Rights created the One Voice Minnesota Monitoring Project to investigate, document, and assess how fully Minnesota welcomes all residents of our state. By recording the experiences of immigrants and other key communities in Minnesota and evaluating them against international human rights standards, the project will work to eliminate anti-immigrant bias and build a community in which the human rights of all Minnesotans are respected, protected, and fulfilled.
The ultimate goal of the project is the creation of a “Blueprint for Welcome” — a set of recommendations that will provide a road map for policy makers, activists, and community members who want to make sure everyone in Minnesota feels welcome in their community. The report findings and recommendations will help set the agenda for the One Voice Minnesota network and will also generate priorities for policy changes at the federal, state, and local levels.
