DEATH PENALTY CAMPAIGN

Minnesota Advocates is opposed to the use of the death penalty in all circumstances and all cases, and works for the abolition of state-sanctioned death as a punishment. Our Death Penalty Campaign fights against death penalty as a human rights violation through: (1)Legislation, where Advocates try to prevent the introduction or re-introduction of the death penalty in the state legislatures of the upper Midwest; (2)Legal Representation by Advocates volunteer attorneys who take up the cases of death row inmates when there is a compelling case to be made for inadequate representation, discrimination, or innocence; (3)Education by providing data, resources and speakers to schools, communities and the media. We believe that when the American people are in full possession of the facts about the death penalty they will turn away from it.
