REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT PROGRAM The B.I.A.S. Project (Building Immigrant Awareness and Support) is an educational campaign to combat anti-immigrant sentiment. Recognized as a national model for effective education and advocacy, the B.I.A.S. Project serves as a resource for accurate information about legislation affecting immigrants and refugees as well as the impact of migration on our economy, culture, and labor market. The Project works with and mobilizes community networks, immigrant and refugee groups, and schools to educate about and advocate for refugee and immigrant rights. Please join usthe need is especially urgent now for volunteers to assist with the following components of the B.I.A.S. Project: PUBLIC SPEAKINGjoin our speakers bureau and present to audiences on immigrant and refugee issues or share your personal experiences as an immigrant or refugee. Training is available. RESEARCH/WRITING PROJECTSresearch various aspects of immigration to use in public education campaign on immigrant issues. CURRICULUM WRITINGdevelop lesson plans to teach about immigrant issues. Plans are used both in the classroom and in the community. MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONSassist Project in developing additional outreach networks and informational brochures. ADMINISTRATIVE HELPassist with administrative office tasks--mailing, data entry, photocopying.
