REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT PROGRAM
Battered Immigrant Women's Project

New Project to Serve Battered Immigrant Women and Children in Minnesota

The Refugee and Immigrant Program is collaborating with the Womens Program on a new project: the Battered Immigrant Womens Project. This project will provide training, advocacy and direct services to protect the health and human rights of immigrant, refugee and undocumented battered women and children in Minnesota. Activities of the project include training seminars on domestic violence and immigration law for social service providers, a telephone information line, individual consultations and referrals for legal and social service needs. Volunteers will be needed to assist in providing advocacy services for these victims of domestic violence in our community. Watch for upcoming training opportunities.
