Volunteer Speakers Bureau Training
7/27/2004 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Through its Volunteer Speakers Bureau, Minnesota Advocates reaches out across Minnesota to thousands of individuals through school groups, faith communities, corporations, and legal professionals to educate on a variety of topics within human rights. Presentation topics include refugee and immigrant rights, women's rights, the death penalty, and more general human rights issues. To reach such a broad audience on a range of topics, Minnesota Advocates relies on its most valuable resource: its volunteers.
Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights will host a Speakers Bureau training on July 27th, 6-8pm.
This short training will provide essential background information on Minnesota Advocates, general human rights issues, and guidelines for public speaking. If you have signed up to be a volunteer speaker, we request that you attend this mandatory session to gain information about Minnesota Advocates and general human rights issues. If you have spoken for Minnesota Advocates before, this session will be a great opportunity to meet new Minnesota Advocates staff, get updated on Minnesota Advocates’ activities, and become reconnected with our Speakers Bureau.
The training will take place at the Minnesota Advocates office. Click here for directions. If you are interested in attending, please contact Colleen Beebe at 612-341 3302 ext. 114, [email protected].
